My journey from a home steeped in unwavering Christian traditions to crafting my own holiday tapestry post-marriage has been nothing short of a festive odyssey. The nostalgia of yesteryear floods back – a time when Christmas wasn’t just a day; it was an enchanting saga of family rituals.

Picture this: adorning the Christmas tree, basking in the glow of ‘White Christmas’ on Christmas Eve, culinary symphonies, board games galore, unwrapping treasures, and a dash to visit the wise elders.

In this festive montage, there’s a sprinkle of my German roots, though the full history remains an untapped reservoir. As a wide-eyed kid, the significance of those wrapped treasures was blissfully undisputed. Blessings flowed from parents who excelled in their careers, making the magic of Christmas presents a tangible reality.

Fast forward to adulting, and the materialistic sheen of presents has dimmed. What lights up my holiday spirit now? It’s the collective magic of erecting the Christmas tree, clinking hot chocolate mugs, and diving into a heartwarming holiday flick – a symphony of intentional togetherness. Volunteering has become my holiday anthem, with the violin serenading nursing home residents.

Finding this photo really warmed my heart. My mother has hung dehydrated oranges and baked Stars of David made of cinnamon on the tree our whole life. This tradition started on my German side, when they had no money for ornamentes in WWII.

Chronixx’s melody was a raw and beautiful reality check, unveiling layers of Christmas beyond my childhood dreams. Acknowledging that not everyone partakes in the yuletide revelry, I’ve made it my mission to unlock the mysteries of the season. The Christmas tree, once just a symbol, now beckons exploration of its deeper meanings and the myriad perspectives it carries.

Gratitude swells as I soak in the diverse narratives and cultural hues that paint the canvas of Christmas. Here’s to a season of not just celebration, but discovery and appreciation, as we unwrap the gift of shared stories and traditions from around the world. Thank you, and warm wishes for the Holidays!

Hi Myah, I really enjoyed your blog! I especially liked the bottom video where it had different special days around the globe. I think it was really cute. I liked your other multi-media elements too, and my favorite had to be the different silhouettes with different ways of celebrating within them. I also agree that Chronixx’s melody was really raw and honest, and I think that’s what’ so beautiful about it. You don’t need to sugar coat things to make people feel better, you need to speak the truth. I also agree that it was very distinctive.
